Decarbonising Hospitality Without Compromising Performance: Aaron Morris at Hospitality Expo 2026

Jan 23, 2026

Speaker Spotlight: Aaron Morris, Gas Networks Ireland

Decarbonisation in hospitality is no longer a future ambition. It’s a live operational challenge — happening now.

Hotels, venues and hospitality businesses are under increasing pressure to cut emissions while still delivering performance, reliability and value. The question is no longer if change is coming, but how to make it work in practice.

At Hospitality Expo 2026, Aaron Morris from Gas Networks Ireland brings a grounded, infrastructure-led perspective to this conversation — focused on what hospitality operators can realistically do today, and what’s

coming next.

About Aaron Morris

Aaron Morris joined Gas Networks Ireland in August 2023 as a Business Development Technical Consultant, supporting residential, SME and large industrial and commercial customers.

His work focuses on the integration of biomethane, BioCNG and hydrogen into Ireland’s gas network — key technologies in the transition toward a lower-carbon energy system.

Before joining Gas Networks Ireland, Aaron worked as a Design Engineer with Unitherm Heating Systems Ltd, specialising in heat-pump-based heating systems. He holds an Honours Degree in Energy Engineering from Atlantic Technological University (ATU).

This blend of engineering expertise and national infrastructure experience gives Aaron a practical, no-nonsense view of what decarbonisation actually looks like on the ground.

Where You’ll Hear Aaron at HEX26

Aaron will appear twice on Day 2 of Hospitality Expo 2026, contributing both strategic insight and practical guidance.

🔹 Circular Hospitality: Innovations in Waste Reduction and Resource Management

Wednesday 11 February | 12:00
Stage: The Business of Hospitality | Panel Discussion

This session explores how hospitality businesses can rethink energy, waste and resources in ways that are both sustainable and commercially viable.

Aaron will share insights on how energy infrastructure, alternative gases and system design play a role in building genuinely circular hospitality operations — beyond surface-level sustainability claims.

🔹 Decarbonisation of the Gas Network

Wednesday 11 February | 15:00
Stage: The Future of Hospitality | Standalone Speaker Session

In this dedicated session, Aaron will break down how Ireland’s gas network is being decarbonised — and what that means for hospitality operators now and in the years ahead.

Expect clear explanations, real examples, and an honest look at what’s achievable today versus what’s still coming down the line.

Why This Matters for Hospitality Operators

Energy decisions made now will shape cost, compliance and sustainability performance for years to come.

Aaron’s sessions are particularly relevant for:

  • Hotels and venues with high energy demand

  • Hospitality businesses planning long-term infrastructure investment

  • Operators exploring alternatives to traditional fossil fuels

  • Sustainability and operations leaders seeking credible, scalable solutions

Rather than abstract targets or theory, Aaron focuses on practical pathways — helping hospitality businesses understand how national energy infrastructure changes translate into real operational choices.
